The serpent
NOW the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, "Has God indeed said, `You shall not eat of every tree of the garden; And the woman said to the serpent, "We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.` " Then the serpent said to the woman, " You will not surely die. "For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." So when the woman saw that ther tree was good for food, that it was pleasnat to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also give her husband with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves covering. And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking inthe garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among thetrees of the garden. Then the LORD God called to Adam and said to him, " Where are you?" So he said, "I heard Your voice in the garden, and I hid myself." And He said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I command you that you should not eat?" Then the man said, 'The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I eat." So the LORD God said to the woman, " What is this you have done?" The woman said," The serpent decieved me, and I ate." So the LORD God to the serpent: "Because you have done this, you are cursed more than all cattle, and more than every beast of the field; on your belly you shall go, and you shall eat the dust all the days of your life. I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head / the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and you shall bruise His heel." To the woman He said: I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; in pain you shall bring forth children; your desire shall ve for your husband, and he shall rule over you." And to Adam He said, "Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, `You shall not eat of it`: "Cursed is the ground for your sake; in tiol you shall eat of it all the days of your life. Both throns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, and you shall eat the herb of the field. In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread till you return to the ground, for out of it you are taken; for the dust you are and to dust you shall return." And Adam caled his wife`s name Eve, because she was mother of all living. Also for Adam and his wife the LORD God made tunics of skin, and clothing them. Then the LORD God said," Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever" - Therefore the LORD God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken. So He drove the man; and placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life. GENESIS 3 :1-24
The dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan.
NOW a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a garland of twelve stars. Then being with child, she cried out in labor and in pain to give birth. And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads. His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it was born. She bore a male Child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. And her Child was caught up to God and His throne. Then the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that they should feed her there one thousand two hundred and sixty days. And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, But they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who decieve the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, "Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. "Therfore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time." Now when the dragon saw that he had been cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male Child. But the woman was given two wing of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and time and half a time, from the presence of the serpent. So the serpent spewed water out of his mouth like a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood. But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the flood which the dragon had spewed out of his mouth. And the dragon was engraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. REVELATION 12 :1-17
THEN I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; And he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should decieve the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a litle while. And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not recieved his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for thousand years. But rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousands years. Now when the thousands years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison. And will go out to decieve the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them togather to battle, whose number is the sand of the sea. They went up on the breath of the earth and sorround the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them. The devil, who decieved them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire. REVELATION 20:1-15
