THE burden which the prophet Habakkuk saw. O LORD, how long shall I cry, and You will not hear? Even cry out to You, ''Violence!" And You will not save. Why do you show me iniquity, and cause me to see trouble? For plundering and violence are before me; there is strife, and contention arises. Therefore the law is powerless, and justice never goes forth. For the wicked surrond the righteous; therefore perverse judgment proceeds. ''Look among the nations and watch - be utterly astounded! For I will work a work in your days which you would not believe, though it were told you. For indeed I am raising up the Chaldeans, a bitter and hasty nation which marches through the breadth of the earth, to possess dwelling places that are not their. They are terrible and dreadful; their judgment and their dignity proceed from themselves. Their horses also are swifter than leopards, and more fierce than evening wolves.Their chargers charge ahead; their cavalry comes from afar; they fly as the eagle that hastens to eat. They all come for violence; their faces are set like the east wind. They gather captives like sand. They scoff at kings, and princes are scorned by them. They deride every stronghold, for they heap up earthen mounds and seize it. Then his mind changes, and he transgress; he commit offense, ascribing this power to his god. Are You not from everlasting, O LORD my God, my Holy One? We shall not die. O LORD, You have appointed them for judgment; O Rock, You have marked them for correction. You are of purer eyes than to behold evil, and cannot look on wickedness. Why do You look on those who deal tracherously, and hold Your tongue when the wicked devours a person more righteous than he? Why do You make men like fish of the sea, like creeping things / this image of jealousy / Levianthan that twisted serpent / this world that have no ruler over them? They take up all of them with a hook, they catch them in their net, and gather them in their dragnet. Therefore they rejoice and are glad. Therefore they sacrifice to their net, and burn incense to their dragnet; because by them their share is sumptuous and their food plentiful. Shall they therefore empty their net, and continue to slay nations without pity? HABAKKUK 1:1-17
And it came to pass in the sixth year, in the sixth month, on the fifth day of the month, as I sat in my house with elders of Judah sitting before me, that the hand of the Lord GOD fell upon me there. Then I looked, and there was a likeness, like the appearnance of fire - from the appearance of His waist and downward, fire; and from His waist and upward, like the appearnce of brightness, like the color of amber. He stretched out the form of a hand, and took me by a lock of my hair; and the Spirit lifted me up between earth and heaven, and brought me in vision of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the north gate of the inner court, where the seat of the image of jealousy was, which provokes to jealousy. And behold, the glory of the God of Israel was there, like the vision that I saw in the plain. Then He said to me, "Son of man, lift your eyes now toward the north." So I lifted my eyes toward north, and there, north of the altar gate, was this image of jeaolousy / the terrible / this world in the enterance. Futhermore He said to me, "Son of man, do you see what they are doing, the great abominations that the house of Israel commit here, to make Me go far away from My sanctuary? Now turn again, you will see great abomination." So He brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, there was a hole in the wall. Then He said me, "Son of man, dig into the wall"; and when I dug into the wall, there was a door. And He said to me, "Go in, and see the wicked abominations which they are doing there." So I went in and saw, and there - every sort of creeping thing, abominable beasts, and all idols of the house of Israel, portrayed all around the walls. And there stood before them seventy men of the elders of the house of Israel, and in their midst stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan. Each man had a censer in his hand, and a thick cloud of incense went up. Then He said to me, "Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the room of his idols? For they say, 'The LORD does not see us, the LORD has forsaken the land.' " And He said to me, "Turn again and you will see greater abomination that they are doing." So He brought me to the door of the north gate of the LORD's house; and to my dismay, woman were sitting there weeping for Tammuz. Then He said to me, "Have you seen this, O son of men? Turn again, you will see greater abominations than these. "So he brought me into the inner court of the LORD's house; and there, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and altar, were about twenty - five men with their backs toward the temple of the LORD and ther faces toward the east, and they were worshiping the sun toward the east. And He said to me, "Have you seen this, O son of man? Is it a trival thing to the house of Judah to commit the abominations which they commit here? For they have filled the land with violence; then they have returned to provoke Me to anger. Indeed they put the branch to their nose. "Therefore I also will act in fury. My eye will not spare nor will I have pity; and though they cry in My ears with a loud voice, I will not hear them." EZEKIEL 8:1-18
LISTEN, O coastlands, to Me, and take heed, you peoples from afar! The LORD has called Me from the womb; from the matrix of My mother He has made mention of My name. And He has made My mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of His hand He has hidden Me, and a polished shaft; in His quiver He has hidden Me." And He said to me, 'You are My servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified.' Then I said, ''I have lobaored in vain, I have spent my strength for nothing and in vain; yet surely my just reward with the LORD, and my work with my God.'" "And now the LORD says, who formed Me from the womb to be His Servant, to bring Jacob back to Him, so that Israel is gathered to Him ( For I shall be glorious in the eyes of the LORD, and My God shall be My strength ), Indeed He says, 'It is too small thing that You should be Me Servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will also give You as light to the Gentiles, that You should be My salvation to the ends of the earth.' " Thus says the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel, their Holy One, to Him whom man despises, to Him whom the nations abhors, to the servants of rulers: "Kings, shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the LORD who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel; and He has chosen you." Thus says the LORD: "In an acceptable time I have heard You, and in the day of salvation I have helped You; I will preserve You and give You as a covenant to the people, to restore the earth, to cause them to inherit the desolate heritages; That You may say to the prisoners, 'Go forth,' to those who are in darkness, 'Show yourselves.' "They shall feed along the roads, and their pastures shall be on all desolate heights. They shall neither hunger nor thrist, neither heat nor shall strike them; for He who has mercy on them will lead them, even by the springs of water He guide them. I will make each of My mountains a road, and My highways shall be elevated. Surely these shall come from afar; look! Those from the north and the west, and these from the land of Sinim. " Sing, O heavens! Be joyful, O earth! And break out in singing, O mountains! For the LORD has comforted His people, and will have mercy on His afflicted. But Zion said, "The LORD has forsaken me, and my Lord has forgotten me." Can a woman forget her nursing child, and have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, yet I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; your walls are continually before Me. Your sons shall make haste; your destroyers and those who laid you waste shall go away from you. Lift up your eyes, look around and see; all these gather togather and come to you. As I live, "says the LORD, "You shall surely clothe yourselves with them all as an ornament, and bind them on you as a bride does. "For your waste and desolate places, and the land of your destruction, will even now be too small for inhabitants; and those who swallowed you up will be far away. The children you will have, after you have lost the others, will say again in your ears, 'The place is too small for me; give me a place where I may dwell.' Then you will say in your heart, 'Who has begotten these for me, since I have lost my children and am desolate, a captive, and wandering to and fro? And who has brought these up? There I was left alone; but these, where were they? ' " Thus says the Lord GOD: "Behold, I will lift My hand in an oath to nations, and set up My standard for the peoples; they shall bring your sons in their arms, and your daughters shall be carried on their shoulders; Kings shall be your foster fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers; they shall bow down to you with their faces to the earth, and lick up the dust of your feet. Then you will know that I am the LORD, for they shall not be ashamed who wait for Me. Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the captives of the righteous be delivered? But thus says the LORD: "Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible / the image of jealousy / like creeping things / this world / Levianthan that twisted serpent be delivered; for I contend with him who contends with you, and I will save your children. I feed those who oppress you with their own flesh, and they shall be drink with their own blood as with sweet wine. All flesh shall know that I, the LORD, am your Savior, your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob." ISAIAH 49:1-26
Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdoms of this world have come the kingdoms of our Lord / LORD and of His Christ / the man, and He shall reign forever and ever ! " And the twenty - four elders who sat before God on their thrones fell on their faces and worshiped God, Saying: " We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty, the One who is and who was and who is to come, because You have taken Your great power and reignes. Then nations were angry, and Your wrath has come, and the time of dead, that they should be judged, and that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints, and those who fear Your name, small and great, and should destroy those who destroy the earth." Then the temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of His covenant was seen in His temple. And there was lightening, noises thunderings, an earthquake, and great hail. REVELATION 11:15-19
