THE burden which the prophet Habakkuk saw. O LORD, how long shall I cry, and You will not hear? Even cry out to You, ''Violence!" And You will not save. Why do you show me iniquity, and cause me to see trouble? For plundering and violence are before me; there is strife, and contention arises. Therefore the law is powerless, and justice never goes forth. For the wicked surrond the righteous; therefore perverse judgment proceeds. ''Look among the nations and watch - be utterly astounded! For I will work a work in your days which you would not believe, though it were told you. For indeed I am raising up the Chaldeans, a bitter and hasty nation / O coastlands / a nation / a rebellious people which marches through the breadth of the earth, to possess dwelling places that are not their. They are terrible and dreadful; their judgment and their dignity proceed from themselves.Their horses also are swifter than leopards, and more fierce than evening wolves.Their chargers charge ahead; their cavalry comes from afar; they fly as the eagle that hastens to eat. They all come for violence; their faces are set like the east wind. They gather captives like sand. They scoff at kings, and princes are scorned by them. They deride every stronghold, for they heap up earthen mounds and seize it. Then his / Levianthan that twisted serpent / this world mind changes, and he transgress; he commit offense, ascribing this power to his god / Levianthan the fleeing serpent / the flesh / the evil one / the world / that serpent of old of the earth. Are You not from everlasting, O LORD my God, my Holy One? We shall not die. O LORD, You have appointed them for judgment; O Rock, You have marked them for correction. You are of purer eyes than to behold evil, and cannot look on wickedness. Why do You look on those who deal tracherously, and hold Your tongue when the wicked devours a person more righteous than he? Why do You make men like fish of the sea, like creeping things that have no ruler over them? They take up all of them with a hook, they catch them in their net, and gather them in their dragnet. Therefore they rejoice and are glad. Therefore they sacrifice to their net, and burn incense to their dragnet; because by them their share is sumptuous and their food plentiful. Shall they therefore empty their net, and continue to slay nations without pity? HABAKKUK 1:1-17
LISTEN, O coastlands / a bitter and hasty nation / a nation / a rebellious people, to Me, and take heed, you peoples from afar! The LORD has called Me from the womb; from the matrix of My mother He has made mention of My name. And He has made My mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of His hand He has hidden Me, and a polished shaft; in His quiver He has hidden Me. " And He said to me, 'You are My servant, O Israel / Israel of the earth, in whom I will be glorified.' Then I said, ''I have lobaored in vain, I have spent my strength for nothing and in vain; yet surely my just reward with the LORD, and my work with my God.'" "And now the LORD says, who formed Me from the womb to be His Servant, to bring Jacob back to Him, so that Israel is gathered to Him ( For I shall be glorious in the eyes of the LORD, and My God shall be My strength ), Indeed He says, 'It is too small thing that You should be Me Servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will also give You as light to the Gentiles, that You should be My salvation to the ends of the earth.' "Thus says the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel, their Holy One, to Him whom man despises, to Him whom the nations abhors, to the servants of rulers: "Kings, shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the LORD who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel; and He has chosen you." Thus says the LORD: "In an acceptable time I have heard You, and in the day of salvation I have helped You; I will preserve You and give You as a covenant to the people, to restore the earth, to cause them to inherit the desolate heritages; That You may say to the prisoners, 'Go forth,' to those who are in darkness, 'Show yourselves.' "They shall feed along the roads, and their pastures shall be on all desolate heights. They shall neither hunger nor thrist, neither heat nor shall strike them; for He who has mercy on them will lead them, even by the springs of water He guide them. I will make each of My mountains a road, and My highways shall be elevated. Surely these shall come from afar; look! Those from the north and the west, and these from the land of Sinim. " Sing, O heavens! Be joyful, O earth! And break out in singing, O mountains! For the LORD has comforted His people, and will have mercy on His afflicted. But Zion said, "The LORD has forsaken me, and my Lord has forgotten me." Can a woman forget her nursing child, and have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, yet I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; your walls are continually before Me. Your sons shall make haste; your destroyers and those who laid you waste shall go away from you. Lift up your eyes, look around and see; all these gather togather and come to you. As I live, "says the LORD, "You shall surely clothe yourselves with them all as an ornament, and bind them on you as a bride does. "For your waste and desolate places, and the land of your destruction, will even now be too small for inhabitants; and those who swallowed you up will be far away. The children you will have, after you have lost the others, will say again in your ears, 'The place is too small for me; give me a place where I may dwell.' Then you will say in your heart, 'Who has begotten these for me, since I have lost my children and am desolate, a captive, and wandering to and fro? And who has brought these up? There I was left alone; but these, where were they? ' " Thus says the Lord GOD: "Behold, I will lift My hand in an oath to nations, and set up My standard for the peoples; they shall bring your sons in their arms, and your daughters shall be carried on their shoulders; Kings shall be your foster fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers; they shall bow down to you with their faces to the earth, and lick up the dust of your feet. Then you will know that I am the LORD, for they shall not be ashamed who wait for Me. Shall the prey / O Israel / Israel of the earth be taken from the mighty / Levianthan the fleeing serpent / the evil one / jealousy / the world / the flesh / the serpent of old of the earth, or the captives of the righteous be delivered? But thus says the LORD: "Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey / the man / His Christ of the terrible / this world be delivered; for I contend with him who contends with you, and I will save your children. I feed those who oppress you with their own flesh, and they shall be drink with their own blood as with sweet wine. All flesh shall know that I, the LORD, am your Savior, your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob." ISAIAH 49:1-26
"I was sought by those who did not ask for Me; I was found by those who did not seek Me. I said, 'Here I am, here I am, 'to a nation / O coastlands / a bitter and hasty nation / a rebellious people that was not called by My name. I have stretched out My hands all day long to a rebellious people, who walk in way that is not good, according to their own thoughts; A people who provoke Me to anger continually to My face; who sacrifice in gardens, and burn incense to altars of brick; Who sit among the graves, and spend the night in the tombs; who eat swine's flesh, and the broth of abominable things is in their vessels. Who say, 'Keep to yourself, do not come near me, for I am holier than you! 'These are smoke in My nostrils, a fire that burns all the days. "Behold, it is written before Me: I will not keep silence, but will repay - even repay into their bosom - Your iniquities and the iniquities of your fathers togather, "says the LORD, "Who have burned incense on the mountains and blasphemed Me on the hills; therefore I will measure their former work into their bosom." Thus says the LORD: "As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one says, 'Do not destroy it, for a blessing is in it, 'so will I do for My servants' sake, that I may not destroy them all. I will bring forth the descendants from Jacob, and from Judah an heir of My mountains; My elect shall inherit it, and My servant shall dwell there. Sharon shall be fold of flocks, and the Valley of Achor a place for herds to lie down, for My people who have sought Me. "But you are those who farsake the LORD, who forget My holy mountain, who prepre a table for Gad, and who furnish a drink offering for Meni. Therefore I will number you for the sword, and you shall all bow down to the slaughter; because, when I called, you did not answer; when I spoke, you did not hear, but did evil before My eyes, and chose that in which I do not delight. Therfore thus says the Lord GOD: "Behold, My servants shall eat, but you shall be hungery; behold, My servants shall drink, but you shall be thirsty; behold, My sevants shall rejoice, but you shall be ashamed; Behold, My servant shall sing for joy of heart, but you shall cry for sorrow of heart, and wail for grief of spirit. You shall leave your name as acurse to My choosen; for the Lord GOD will slay you, and call His servants by another name; So that he who blessed himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth; and he who swears in the earth shall swear by the God of truth; becuase the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hidden from My eyes. "For behold, I creat new heaven and a new earth; and former shall not be remembered or come to mind. But be glad and rejoice forever in what I creat; for behold, I creat Jerusalem as rejoicing, and her people a joy. I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in My people; the voice of weeping shall no longer be heard in her, nor the voice of crying. "No more shall an infant from there lives but a few days, nor an old man who has not fulfilled his days; for the child shall die one hundred years old, but the sinner being one hundred years old shall be accursed. They shall build houses and inhabit them; they shall plant vineyards and eat their fruit. They shall not build and another inhabit; they shall not plant and another eat; for as the days of a tree, so shall be the days of My people, and My elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands. They shall not labor in vain, nor bring forth children for trouble; for they shall be the descendants of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them. "It shall come to pass that before they call, I will answer; and while they are still speaking, I will hear. The wolf and the lamb shall freed togather, the lion shall eat straw like the ox, and dust shall be the serpent's food. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain," says the LORD. ISAIAH 65:1-25
IN that day the LORD with His severe sword, great and strong, will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent / the evil one / the flesh / the world / thatserpent of old of the earth, Leviathan that twisted serpent / this world; and He will slay the reptile that is in the sea. In that day sing to her, "A vineyard of red wine! I, the LORD, keep it, I water it every moment; lest any hurt it, I keep it night and day. Fury is not in Me, who would set briers and throns against Me in battle? I would go through them, I would burn them togather. Or let him take hold of My strength, that he may make peace with Me; and he shall peace with Me." Those who come He shall cause to take root in Jacob; Israel shall blossom and bud, and fill the face of the world with fruit. Has He struck Israel as He struck those who struck him? Or has He been slain according to the slaughter of those who were slain by Him? In measure, by sending it away, you contended with it. He removes it by His rough wind in the day of the east wind. Therefore by this the iniquity of Jacob will be covered; and this is all the fruit of taking away his sin: when he makes all the stones of the altar like chalkstones that are beaten to dust, wooden images and incense altars shall not stand. Yet the fortified city will be desolate, the habitation forsaken and left like a wilderness; there the calf will feed, and ther it will lie down and consume its branches. When its boughs are withered, they will be broken off; the woman come and set them on fire. For it is a people of no understanding; therefore He who made them will not have mercy on them, and He who formed then will show them no favor. And it shall come to pass in that day that the LORD will thresh, from the channel of the River to the Brook of Egypt; and you will be gathered one by one, O you children of Israel. So it shall be in that day: the great trumpt will be blown; they will come, who are about to perish in the land of Assyria, and they who are outcasts in the land of Egypt, and shall worship the LORD in the holy mount at Jerusalem.
