Church of England  / a rebellious house

AND the word of the LORD came to me, saying, ''Son of man, pose a riddle, and speak a parable to house of the Israel, ''And say, 'Thus say the Lord GOD: ''A great eagle with large wings and long pinions, full of feathers of various color, came to Lebanon and took from the cedar the highest branch.  He cropped off its topmost young twing and carried it to a land of trade; he set it in a city of mecrchants. Then he took some of the seed of the land and planted in it a fertile field; he placed it by abundant waters and set it like a willow tree. And it grew and become a spreading vine of low stature; its branches turned toward him, but its branches turned toward him, but its roots were under it. So it became a vine, Brought forth branches, and put forth shoots. EZEKIEL 17:3 - 6

''But there was another great eagle with large wings and many feathers; and behold, this vine bent its roots toward him, and stretched its branches toward him, from the garden terrace where it had been planted, that he might water it. It as planted in good soil by many water, to bring forth branches, bear fruit, and become a majestic vine," ' ''Say, 'Thus says the Lord GOD: "Will it thrive? will he not pull up its root, cut off its fruit, and leave it to wither? All of its spring leave will wither, and no great power or many people will be needed to pluck it up by its root. Behold, it is planted, will it thrive? Will it not utterly wither when the east wind touches? It will wither in the garden terrace where it grew." ' " EZEKIEL17:7 - 10

Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying, ''Say now to the rebellious house: 'Do you not know what these things mean? Tell  them, 'Indeed the king of Babylon / Egypt / perdition / the beast went to Jerusalem and took its king and princes, and led them with him to Babylon. 'And he took the king's offering, made a covenant with him, and put him under oath. He also took away the mighty of the land, 'That the kingdom might be brought low and not fit itself up, but they by keeping his covenant it might stand. ''But he rebelled against him by sending his ambassadors to Egypt, that they might give him horses and many people. Will he prosper? Will he does such things escape? Can he break a covenant and still be delivered? 'As I live, say the Lord GOD, 'Surely in the place where thee king dwells who made him king, whose oath he despised and whose covenant he broke - with him in the midst of Babylon he shall die. 'Nor will Pharaoh with his mighty army and great company do any thing in the war, when they heap up a seige mound and build a wall to cut off many persons. 'Since he despises the oath by breaking the covenant, and in fact gave his hand and still did all these things, he shall not escaped.' " Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: "As I live, surely My oath which he despised, and My covenant which he broke, I will recompense on his head. "I will spread My net over him, and he shall be taken in My snare. I will bring him to Babylon and try him there the treason which he committed against Me. ''All his fugitives with all his troops shall fall by sword, and those who remain shall be scattered to every wind; and you shall know that I, the LORD, have spoken." EEZELIEL 17:11 - 21

the rebellious children

Woe to the rebellious children - Babylon the great," says the LORD, "Who take counsel, but not of Me, and who devise plans, but not of My Spirit, that they may add sin to sin; Who walk to go down to Egypt, and have not asked My advice, to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt / the beast which like a leopard, his feet like a feet of bear and his mouth like the mouth of a lion / perdition / the king of Babylon! Therefore the strength of Pharaoh shall be your shame, and trust in the shadow of Egypt / the beast which like a leopard, his feet like a feet of bear and his mouth like the mouth of a lion / perdition / the king of Babylon shall your humiliation. For his princes were at Zoan, and his ambassadors came to Hanes. They were all  ashamed of a people who could not benefit, but a shame and also a reproach." The burden against the beasts of the South. Through a land of trouble and anguish, from which came the loiness and lion, the viper and fiery flying serpent, they will carry their riches on the backs of young donkeys, and their treasures on the hump of  of camels, to a people who shall not profit;  For the Egyptians / the Chaldeans, a bitter and hasty nation / a rebellious people / the daughter of Babylon shall help in vain and to no purpose. Therefore I have called her Rahab - Hem -Sebeth. Now go, write it before them on the tablet, and note it on a scroll, that it may be for time to come, forever and ever: ISAIAH 30:1 - 8

that great city

"I was sought by those who did not ask for Me; I was found by those who did not seek Me. I have stretched out My hands all day long to a rebellious people, who walk in way that is not good,  according to their own thoughts; A people who provoke Me to anger continually to My face; who sacrifice in gardens, and burn incense to altars of brick; Who sit among the graves, and spend the night in the tombs; who eat swine's flesh, and the broth of abominable things is in their vessels. Who say, 'Keep to yourself, do not come near me, for I am holier than you! 'These are smoke in My nostrils, a fire that burns all the days. "Behold, it is written before Me: I will not keep silence, but will repay - even repay into their bosom -  Your iniquities and the iniquities of your fathers togather, "says the LORD, "Who have burned incense on the mountains and blasphemed Me on the hills; therefore I will measure their former work into their bosom." Thus says the LORD: "As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one says, 'Do not destroy it, for a blessing is in it, 'so will I do for My servants' sake, that I may not destroy them all. ISAIAH 65:1-8

"COME down and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon; sit on the ground / earth without throne, Take the millstones and grind meal. And the twenty - four elders who sat before God on their thrones fell on their faces and worshiped God, Saying: " We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty, the One who is and who was and who is to come, because You have taken Your great power and reignes.  Then nations were angry, and Your wrath has come, and the time of dead, that they should be judged, and that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints, and those who fear Your name, small and great, and should destroy those who destroy the earth."
